TWO WEEKS SINCE MY LAST CONFESSION
Book by Kate Genovese
A Dramatic family saga masterfully written that chronicles The lives of the Irish-catholic O’Brien’s
TWO WEEKS SINCE MY LAST CONFESSION is a story of one woman’s survival and another mans triumph of the human spirit. Set in Boston, Massachusetts, this book takes you on a roller-coaster ride of the O’Brien family. A large Irish political catholic family in the 1950’s to 1980’s. It is a journey back into time where children were seen and not heard. Yet Molly O’Brien, upset at her hypocritical family, powerful father and fanatical catholic mother, speaks out against the secrets the family tries to hide.
Sean O’Brien, on the other hand, captures the reader because he holds the key to Molly’s demise and the potential collapse of the O’Brien dynasty as he travels from his childhood days, to college and drugs, Vietnam and ends up a lawyer fighting causes his family should have paid attention to in his childhood.
TWO WEEKS SINCE MY LAST CONFESSION is more then a family saga. It is the story of Maine St America, where problems arose and swept under the rug. Where families struggled but survived and fought for their families’ reputation. Yet in the end, Molly and Sean, tired of the hypocrisy, fight the church, their family and society, where they speak up when they were suppose to be silent.
