Baby Boomers grew up listening to Bob Marley during the 70's

Bob Marley is considered one of Baby Boomers greatest musicians of all time, and almost single-handedly pioneered the art of reggae music. It is a testament to him that, despite the fact that he is probably more famous worldwide than all other reggae artists combined, he is still loved and respected in his native Jamaica rather than resented for permanently upstanding the rest of the local music.

The Bob Marley album "Legend" is one of Baby Boomers premier albums of all time, especially in the realm of pop albums. Bob Marley Legend chronicles the career of Bob Marley and the Wailers, by having such classic tracks and all time hits as Buffalo Soldier, Stir it Up, Get Up Stand Up, Is This Love, and many more.

Bob Marley Legend was one of my favorite albums while I was college, which is a fairly typical story. Something about the mellow, classic groove of the Wailers lends itself to the growth, experimentation, and of course, partying of the dorm room experience. My first girl friend in college was a huge Bob Marley Legend fan, and used to like to put it on whenever we were together. It is just the mellowest thing possible, and I can't imagine what life would be like without it.

Although fans of all kinds, not just Baby Boomers, listen to Bob Barley the album Legend was originally considered radical music. It was meant to advance the plight of average Jamaicans suffering from poverty and political disenchantment and disenfranchisement. Bob Marley himself always fought for independence and the right of ordinary people, and his radical spirit still lives on in the songs that he plays.

Bob Marley and the Wailers did more than revolutionize music. With their mellow groove and deep bass hooks helped to revolutionize life itself for many Baby Boomers. Wailer's songs were not just meant as party music, they were meant to convey to us, a thirst for justice and peace as well as the hope for a better world. This was quite attractive to our Baby Boomer activist generation.

Whenever I am feeling disillusioned with the way things are, I still like to put on Bob Marley Legend and think about a better world. It is no wonder that hippies, frat boys, rastas, and college kids of all kinds like it. It captures the virility of life, the spirit of youth and rebellion, which is missing from this day and age.
